As a health care provider, we will be continuing to treat patients at our clinic during the current restrictions. However, for now, we will only be seeing babies under 1 year old, children over 10 years and adults under 80 years of age. All patients will be asked to sign a Covid-19 Consent Form - please see our Contact Page for details. All HSE guidelines will continue to be observed and we would ask anyone attending to familiarise themselves with the protocols below and to observe them when attending.

COVID-19 Clinic Protocol at Barney Flannery Osteopaths

As you will all understand, here at Barney Flannery Osteopaths we have had to put new practices and procedures in place in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

To ensure the clinic is following the highest infection control measures we are closely following updates from the Health Service Executive (HSE), Health Prevention Surveillance Centre (HPSC) and World Health Organisation (WHO).

We would like to reassure you all that while things will be a little different to usual, your safety and well-being is, as always, our top priority. You will continue to receive the same level of care that you are used to.

We appreciate that you may have further questions, and if so, please do not hesitate to contact us on 041-983 0741.

Updated Hygiene Procedures:

  • Three hand sanitiser dispensers have been installed at the clinic (one at the entrance and one in each treatment room).
  • There will be a minimum of 15 minutes between patients to ensure you will not encounter other patients and to allow time for cleaning.
  • The treatment room will be thoroughly disinfected between each patient (this includes cleaning of the treatment table, pillow, chair, desk, light switches, door handles and frames, card machine, and any other surfaces that have been contacted either by the patient or the Osteopath).
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be worn by the Osteopath and the patient (see details below).
  • You will be asked to wait in your car until you are called
  • Non-essential furniture and objects have been removed from the treatment room, including toys and books.
  • Paper towel will be used in the bathroom to dry hands and hands free bin provided.
  • The bathroom will be disinfected after use by patients or Osteopaths

Before your appointment:

  • You will be asked questions when making an appointment in accordance with our Pre-Appointment Screening Policy.
  • If you develop any symptoms subsequent to making the appointment and before attending you should call Margo on 041-983 0741.
  • Please come alone to your appointment.
  • In the case of babies/children, I would ask only one parent to attend the appointment.
  • New patients will be asked to provide some brief details at the time of making the appointment to limit their time at the clinic.
  • You will be given the option of making payment at the time of making your appointment. Should you choose to pay in the clinic you will need to use the card machine and key in your pin.Please use cash only if absolutely necessary and have the exact amount (€65).
  • Please arrive at your appointment time and wait in your car until called.
  • Reception area use will be limited to signing a consent form or making a follow-up appointment, social distancing must be maintained (you will not be able to feed babies before or after treatment, however as usual, you can feed/change your baby as necessary during a treatment).

  • You must bring and wear a face mask.
  • You will sign a Consent Form and go straight into the treatment room on arrival.
